My friend A calls it 'Beautiful Mundanity'. She's an incredibly talented photographer, courageous adventurer, eternal optimist, passionate encourager and a true friend of my heart. She recently did a series of photo's of her little girls chronicling her Beautiful Mundanity, encouraging me to enjoy every little moment, every day. Check out her photos, they're like her, an inspiration.
So in a tribute to Beautiful Mundanity....here's my moment today.
Mini, normally an adventurous soul with a loud laugh, to my surprise, is afraid of the vacuum cleaner. Maybe he learnt it from Moose, our four legged family member who is also, terrified of the dreaded suction machine. I was trying to clean the floor this morning but every time I started the vacuum Mini screamed and raised his little hands to me. Sounds so sweet, but to be truthful I was a little annoyed. I know, heartless woman aren't I? I really just wanted to get it done while he was awake so I too could have a little nap when he did. A few attempts to clean ended with a very distressed Mini, so I gave in and wrapped his little body to mine. I vacuumed away with my chunky Mini, his hair tickling my chin and his almost 10kg body hopefully helping me burn some extra calories.
I actually enjoyed the moment, remembering very soon he will be taller than me and rolling his eyes in my direction. I soaked up the moment, for now just being close to me can make it all ok. Thanks A, Beautiful Mundanity indeed.
xx
